Protests Erupt at Mexican Grand Prix Amid Police Action

On Sunday, October 27, in front of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, a protest took place that revealed the political and labor tension prevailing in the country. During the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix, two female workers from the Judiciary demanded justice and respect for their union through chants shouted with a megaphone, while being surrounded by more than 50 police officers who prevented them from demonstrating.

The protest by PJF workers occurred in the context of tensions arising from the approval of the Judicial Reform pushed by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his Morena party. The demonstrators harshly criticized the political party for ignoring the interests of workers.

At one point during the protest, the demonstrators unfurled a banner with the slogan "No one mocks Mexicans... only Morena," which generated criticism and controversy on social media and among those present. Despite the police intervention and temporary inconveniences, the activities of the Mexican Grand Prix were not affected and continued as planned.

The Citizen Security Secretariat had deployed an operation at the racetrack due to the scale of the event, allowing for a quick intervention to contain the protesters. Despite the crowds and temporary chaos, the protest managed to draw attention during a highly significant international event.
